Repair A Delta Monitor 1700 Faucet

How Do I Repair a Delta Monitor 1700 Faucet?

The Delta Monitor 1700 series faucet repairs with a replacement cartridge kit available at plumbing stores or through the manufacturer's website. This kit includes the cartridge that contains the faucet valves and additional parts like seats and springs. It has what you need to fix leaks. You do not need a special tool or a plumber to get through this repair. All you need are basic tools. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Close the water valves.

2. Remove the cover on the temperature control knob (only for faucets that have a temperature control knob) by pulling off the cover, loosening the handle screw under the part with an Allen wrench and removing the base plate and handle assembly.

3. Pull off the trim sleeve and O ring at the base of the faucet, and loosen the bonnet by turning it counterclockwise. Pull the bonnet off and take the cartridge out of the faucet head.

4. Search the bottom of the cartridge for the seat springs, which normally come out with the cartridge. If they are not there, remove them from inside the faucet with the tip of a screwdriver.

5. Insert new seat springs into your replacement cartridge (in most cases they will be pre-installed) if necessary and slide the new cartridge into the faucet. Replace the bonnet and turn it to tighten. Slide on the O ring and trim sleeve and replace the handle assembly and temperature control knob (if applicable) in the reverse of how they were removed.
